Despite an effort for a complete design which includes a more global view of the discipline, the proposal doesn't achieve to accomplish and combine the different subjects involved.
The proposal is a model of intervention which is focused on improving Poblenou, one of the most historic neighborhoods of Barcelona, by introducing 8.100m2 for housing, 900m2 for workshops and 1000m2 for a civic center.
representation:
The graphic representation plays a fundamental role in the description of the project. I work simultaneously with different systems in favor to communicate more appropriately in each case. Hand drawing allows me to express in a more intentionally way the purpose of the drawing.
construction:
From the beginning, I had a clear idea about how I wanted my project to look like. For this reason, now that I have enough knowledge about construction details, I could bring it into a more specific reality.
LOCATION:
The previous urban analysis is essential to guarantee the understanding of my project. In fact, it is not possible to imagine this proposal in another context, because its intention is to increase the level of interaction and activity in the site, through the extension of Marià Aguiló Street which is currently only used by local residents.
ambience:
The project is designed to ensure residents a gradual transition between the street, as a public space, and housing, as a private space. Each particular area has been thoughtfully designed, taking into account a correct dimensions suitable according to the activity carried out, the user perception as the sights and surrounding materuality, and the lighting comfort.
structure:
The structural system has been defined in parallel to the design of the proposal. The intention is to use the most appropriate structure in each case: steel wall system in the ground floor for the workshops, concrete slab for housing and trusses for the theater.
facilities:
It is possibly the most incomplete subject of this project, because of the lack of time to define the necessary plans for installations, However, there is a careful consideration of providing all the elements that guarantee thermal, lighting and acoustic comfort.
