Informal eating spaces (Hawker Centres) are just as important as formal eating spaces (foodcourts) when it comes to planning of town/city in Singapore. Architect's/Planner must take care to make provisions for such spaces when in comes to urban /city planning to add character and variety to the town/city.
This work offers me the opportunity to develop my research skills, expand the knowledge acquired and, more importantly, develop a critical spirit and positive attitude to face questions which need to be solved.
Hawker centres are informal eating spaces which have been part of the social landscape in Singapore. A place where people of different races, religions and cultures can mingle, and rich and poor equally queue up for food.
