will improve the quality of life in this location. The purpose is to realise a complete an analysis in termps of P+U+E (parcellation + urbanism + edification), but it is insufficient to propose a solid intervention.
This project is based on carrying out a complete analysis of one of the most important streets with respect to suburban growth in Barcelona. The final proposal is a minor intervention that will not have a major urban impact, but
urban context:
It is essential to previously recognise the importance of the urban history to identify the actual character of Major de Sarrià Street. Having originated in one of the streams of Barcelona, it has become a pedestrian street defined by its residential character and small businesses.
analysis:
It is a very thoughful analysis in terms of P+U+E (parcellation + urbanism + edification), but it does not take into account one of the most important aspects of urbanism: the way how people appropriate that space an the way they relate to each other.
intervention:
The proposal is focus on removing two old facades to create more space and guarantee the continuity of the facade street. In my opinion, the intervention does not supose any improvent to the main character.
